New clothes from Russia!
Okay, she already caught me, so I guess I’m free to write this blog post.
For the record, Ruchika’s miniature clothes suck. I’m sorry, she’s good at a lot of things, but this isn’t one of them. And I’ve been grinning and bearing it for a long time, wearing those horribly ratty clothes she makes me, entirely out of a lack of choice. UNTIL. I came across a certain Russian miniature dressmaker on Etsy the other day. And the clothes were just so impeccably made, I couldn’t help myself. So I bought them.
This miracle-working miniature dressmaker is Leana Konovalova, by the way, go check her out →
↑ This was when she caught me shopping online, by the way. Not a pleasant moment.
Now I know it was pretty short-sighted to assume that Ruchika wouldn’t find out about it – she would have eventually learned about it when a mysterious, tiny package showed up at her doorstep (since, obviously, I have to use her mailing address for shipments). But she found out a lot sooner than I’d been prepared for – because she happened to catch me while I was on Etsy, making my purchases.
She was not happy.
Though, I think she’s had time to cool off since then and view the whole thing with a touch bit more rationalism. Because, today, when the new clothes arrived, she actually seemed quite pleased with them! I think, face to face with someone else’s obviously superior sewing skills, she couldn’t quite deny that this was the way to go.
And that’s obviously nothing compared to how I feel about them. I’m absolutely over the moon to finally have clothes made by someone who actually knows how to sew. Check out my new wardrobe below!
