The Dollhouse.

In 2020, tired of living out of a dingy drawer, Little R decided it was time to build a home of her own.

She commissioned Studio Slip, a Bangalore-based interior design studio, to architect and design a dollhouse for her just like a real home.

Studio Slip treated her no different from any of their regular-sized clients.

They created mood boards for every room, drew up floor plans and elevations, picked out every piece of furniture and took her shopping for drapes, rugs and more.

Over the next 8 months, the house was then constructed by Nambiar in 1:12, replicating every detail in miniature.

Designed with a contemporary industrial aesthetic…

This two-storeyed house features large windows, exposed cement and brick surfaces, English wall moulding and spacious window seats. The house is filled with furniture from real brands, rugs from Jaipur, flooring from Jaisalmer and more.

Despite belonging in a fiction, the dollhouse is very much rooted in the real world.

The staircase wall features a gallery full of real press-dried flowers and the library is filled with books “donated” by Little R’s Instagram friends. The dollhouse also has a very real art collection featuring pieces acquired from 15 different artists across the world.
