Gifts from the Dollhousewarming!
I was incredibly fortunate to receive a whole bunch of miniature gifts at the Dollhousewarming and the Studio Slip Open House over the last few weeks, and I wanted to properly write out my thank you notes to all my guests for their wonderful gifts. I unfortunately don’t have pictures of each and every gift, but you all get a mention regardless!
First off, thank you to my interior designer Kamini Rao, (assuming we have put past murderous episodes behind us), for the beautifully crafted wooden salad servers! Commissioned especially for me from miniature woodworking artist A Gentle Light, these salad servers make an excellent addition to my kitchen. Thank you also to Reuben Samson for the mini wine and cheese board that I get to feel very fancy with.
Ashika Fernandes and Aashish Mathew, besides being very accommodating godparents to my rather temperamental pet cat, thank you for gifting me the first set of real living plants to fill my home with (unlike the fake stuff Ruchika keeps shoving into various corners of my house).
Many thanks to Maaham Rizvi, Tvishaa Shah, Sitara Jamal and the Uthappa family for their plant gifts as well!
To Anuja Sharma, who gifted me not one but two tiny Ganeshas with which to cast off evil spirits, my mother owes you her deepest gratitude.
Many thanks to Meghna Saha, who, despite living all the way up in Washington DC, arranged to send me a deck of miniature playing cards!
Once again, Ruchika asks to pass on her thanks to Nupur Sista for the brownies, the Kambil family for the human-scale wine and Saroj Ray for the miniature quiches! While the quiches were perfectly on theme, they were still too big for me to eat, but I heard my human guests enjoyed them a great deal – so thank you.
