Just been gifted a teakwood console table from Mysore!

Nothing better than making talented friends on Instagram! Totally out of the blue, I just got gifted a brand new console table from a woodworking artist all the way in Mysore!

Rahul Kothari, a Mysore-based woodworker who uses only hand tools, crafts lovely little pieces out of wood – from tissue boxes to little chests of drawers. He usually doesn’t make anything as small as 1:12, but he apparently took the new scale on as a challenge and created this piece especially for me and my new home! And then did not let me pay for it at all, and very generously gifted it to me for free! <3

A Japanese-style teakwood console table, it features a rosewood bowtie and is inspired by the George Nakashima Conoid table. It is easily the fanciest, most expensive piece of furniture in my house. Cannot wait to find the perfect place for it in the dollhouse!
